Joy King Lau is a Cantonese restaurant at 3 Leicester Street beside Leicester Square and Chinatown. Established in 1977, it has welcomed several generations of diners and remains known for traditional cooking served across its three storey premises.
Fresh handmade dim sum is a defining part of the restaurant. Delicate dumplings and other small steamed or fried dishes make lunch especially sociable, allowing a group to order widely and share several different flavours and textures around the table.
The extensive main menu moves beyond dim sum into Cantonese classics, including crispy roast duck, seafood, meat dishes and sizzling clay pots. Rice and noodle dishes can be added to create a more substantial spread, whether diners are visiting as a pair or as a large family group.
The restaurant takes reservations and can accommodate large groups with tailored menus for private occasions. Its central location and long service hours make it practical for lunch, dinner and meals around a West End visit, while the established dining style keeps the focus on classic Cantonese hospitality.
