Kong Glasgow is a bar and restaurant at 23 Royal Exchange Square in the city centre. Its mood lit interior, late opening and roof garden create an energetic setting for drinks, dinner and shared food before the venue moves further into the night.
The pan Asian influenced menu is designed around plates for the table. Korean glazed fried chicken, Shetland mussels in Thai green curry and crisp chicken or aubergine katsu bring together spice, citrus, herbs and savoury sauces.
Bao buns and handheld dishes widen the selection, including char siu pork with kimchi slaw and a lobster and crayfish roll. A plant based burger and aubergine katsu give vegetarian and vegan diners more substantial choices alongside the smaller plates.
Cocktails, wine and bottle service remain central to the experience, but the food menu is substantial enough to make Kong a dining destination as well as a late bar.
