The Remedy is an independent wine bar and restaurant at 124 Cleveland Street in Fitzrovia. Opened in 2013, it combines the feel of a neighbourhood bottle shop with a compact, relaxed dining room designed for discovering both food and wine.
Mediterranean small plates shape the kitchen menu, drawing particularly on Italian, French and Spanish traditions while changing with the seasons. The sharing format lets a table move from focaccia, olives and vegetables to seafood, meat and pasta at its own pace.
Current dishes include grilled octopus in a bun, vitello tonnato, swordfish schnitzel and pappardelle with anchovy sauce and basil. Cheese from La Fromagerie and a fruit led pavlova provide savoury and sweet ways to finish the meal.
Wine remains central to the experience, with bottles sourced from small low intervention producers alongside more traditional makers. A rotating by the glass selection and a cellar list of older or rarer vintages allow the team to suggest a different pairing for each plate.
