FOWL is a chicken focused restaurant at 3 Norris Street in St James's, created by chefs Jack Croft and Will Murray as the second restaurant from the team behind Fallow. The room combines a lively social atmosphere with the careful sourcing and technique associated with its sister restaurant. Lunch, dinner and drinks are served with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
Small plates introduce the kitchen's broad influences through dishes such as smashed cucumber salad, beef rib bulgogi, tuna with special fried rice and Devon crab crumpet. Signature chicken strips pair Thai yellow seasoning with yuzu caramel and peanuts. Vegetable choices such as blooming mushroom provide the same emphasis on crisp textures, sweet acidity and chilli.
Wings arrive with a choice of seasonings including Szechuan salt, sriracha honey or smoked Korean barbecue. Larger plates centre on the Fowl burger, a hotter smoked chilli burger and rotisserie half chicken served with shiitake rice and Korean chilli sauce. Grilled fish, sesame chicken salad, crispy aubergine burger and Nashville style cauliflower extend the menu beyond its core chicken dishes.
The restaurant gives careful attention to the whole bird and sources pasture raised chicken from farms using regenerative agricultural practices. Chicken salt fries, kimchi slaw and mushroom rice complete the savoury selection, while burnt orange cake and seasonal soft serve offer a sweet finish. Sunday brings rotisserie chicken, porchetta or cauliflower roasts with roast potatoes, vegetables, gravy and large Yorkshire puddings.
