Rosa’s Thai Soho is an intimate Dean Street restaurant with a close connection to the early growth of the Rosa’s Thai story. Founders Saiphin and Alex Moore developed the business from a London market stall and their first permanent cafe in Spitalfields, then opened the Soho branch in 2009. The restaurant helped introduce more diners to Saiphin’s personal approach to Thai comfort food in a relaxed urban setting. Its compact scale and central location create a lively atmosphere that suits a quick lunch, an informal dinner or a meal before an evening in the West End.

Saiphin’s cooking is shaped by her childhood on a mountain farm in Khao Kho in northern Thailand, where ingredients moved directly from field to wok. Family recipes and memories from Thailand sit beside ideas gathered during years in Hong Kong and London. Curries, noodles, stir fries, salads and small plates balance sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavours, with fresh herbs and careful seasoning bringing energy to the food. The style remains accessible and generous, translating traditional inspiration into dishes designed for everyday dining and sharing.

The restaurant’s casual format supports both familiar favourites and a broad selection of vegetarian choices. Guests can build a meal from smaller plates before moving to curries, grilled dishes, rice or noodles, making it easy for a group to explore different flavours together. Drinks provide cooling and aromatic contrasts, from soft options and tea to cocktails, beer and wine. Service follows the brand’s emphasis on a warm welcome, helping the energetic room feel personal even when Dean Street and the surrounding Soho streets are at their busiest.

Rosa’s Thai Soho reflects the meeting of modern Bangkok and modern London that has guided the group from its earliest days. The Dean Street position is close to Soho Square, Chinatown, Covent Garden and Tottenham Court Road, placing the restaurant among theatres, music venues and late evening bars. That makes it useful for spontaneous visits as well as planned meals with friends. Rosa’s Thai Soho combines the character of an early branch, flavour led cooking and approachable hospitality in a neighbourhood that shares its appetite for colour, variety and energy.
