Namak Mandi is a Peshawari restaurant at 25 Upper Tooting Road in Tooting. Established in 2010, it brings the food and hospitality of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region to South London, with a warm, family oriented atmosphere and cooking rooted in Pashtun tradition.
Karahi dishes are a central part of the experience, with meat cooked in a rounded pan alongside tomato, spices and fresh aromatics. Chapli kebab provides another signature taste of Peshawar, while lamb sajji, Kabuli pulao and slow cooked specialities offer rich flavours suited to sharing across the table.
Charcoal grilled meat, tikka, chops and mixed platters add smoky depth to the menu. Fresh naan, rice, salads, yoghurt sauces and vegetable dishes make natural accompaniments, allowing guests to combine several textures and flavours into a generous communal meal.
The restaurant serves halal food and does not serve alcohol, keeping the focus on traditional dishes, soft drinks and tea. Conventional tables sit alongside a floor seating option inspired by the region, while family meals, catering and delivery extend Namak Mandi’s welcoming approach beyond everyday restaurant dining.
