The Argyle Farringdon is a historic pub at 1 Greville Street between Farringdon and Chancery Lane. The premises opened in the early nineteenth century as the Old Leather Bottle and later became a well known Hatton Garden jewellery shop. Today its three floors include a roof terrace and the private cellar bar known as the Vault.
Small plates such as halloumi shawarma, king prawns and pork belly bites work well with drinks, while loaded fries and sharing platters suit a larger group. Sandwiches, ciabattas, salads and flatbreads provide practical weekday lunches. Vegetarian and plant based recipes appear throughout the menu rather than being confined to a single token dish.
Main courses focus on familiar pub comfort, including fish and chips, sausage and mash, pies, burgers and changing seasonal plates. Pizza and hearty salads broaden the choice, and a separate menu supports diners avoiding ingredients that contain gluten. Desserts such as sticky toffee sponge, fruit crumble and chocolate brownie complete a longer meal.
Cask ale, lager, cider and wine are joined by a collection of more than forty gins and a broad cocktail list. Alcohol free beers, wines and mixed drinks give non drinkers more than soft drinks alone. The roof terrace, lively main bar and bookable Vault make the Argyle suitable for everything from an office lunch to a private party.
