The Barbary Notting Hill is an open fire restaurant at 112 Westbourne Grove. Opened in 2024 as an evolution of the original Neal’s Yard restaurant, it occupies a Grade II listed building with counter seats facing the kitchen and a larger dining room for groups.
The menu follows the cuisines of the Barbary Coast, moving from Southern Europe through North Africa and along the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Trade, travel and the movement of recipes inform a style of cooking that combines bold seasoning with ingredients treated directly and confidently.
Fire, smoke, clay vessels and the pestle and mortar are central tools in the kitchen. Grilling and slow cooking build depth, while fresh salads, breads, sauces and pickles provide the acidity, fragrance and texture that keep a shared meal balanced.
Lunch and dinner menus are joined by desserts, cocktails and a carefully developed wine list. The counter offers a close view of the cooks at work, while the wider room makes The Barbary equally suitable for an intimate meal or a celebratory table.
