The Castle is a Young’s pub at 54 Pentonville Road in Angel, serving food throughout the day in a relaxed Islington setting. Its rooftop is a particular draw in warmer weather, while the main pub works for lunch, dinner, drinks and informal group gatherings.
The seasonal British menu begins with snacks and sharing plates such as a Scotch egg, sausage roll, paprika hummus, cod cheek bites, spiced cauliflower and pork belly skewers. Chicken wings and steak provide heartier small plates for a table ordering several dishes together.
Pub classics include cyder battered haddock with chips, mushy peas and curry sauce, a short rib and brisket beef burger, a plant based burger and pork sausages with crushed potatoes. Grilled chicken and roasted cauliflower salads give lighter options, supported by vegetable and potato sides.
