UNI Restaurant Belgravia is an elegant Japanese restaurant at 18A Ebury Street, close to Victoria station. Usually styled simply as UNI, it combines traditional Japanese technique with seasonal creativity and subtle Peruvian influences. The intimate dining room and carefully composed sharing plates create a polished evening destination without losing the warmth of a neighbourhood restaurant.
Sushi can be ordered as individual nigiri and sashimi or arranged as a chef selected tasting. Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, sea bass, eel, sweet shrimp, scallop, wagyu and the sea urchin that gives the restaurant its name appear across the selection. Rolls combine ingredients such as tuna with spicy mayonnaise, salmon with avocado, snow crab with vegetables, and shrimp tempura with asparagus.
Ceviche, tiradito and tataki express the Japanese and Peruvian crossover through citrus, ponzu, chilli, coriander, jalapeño and wasabi. Yellowtail and sea bass are served in bright raw preparations, while tuna and wagyu receive deeper savoury accents. Tiger prawn tempura, vegetable tempura, soft shell crab and small dishes such as gyoza and crispy rice provide warm contrasts to the raw seafood.
Larger plates can include miso black cod, chicken robata, grilled salmon teriyaki, lamb cutlets and wagyu beef with mushrooms and padron peppers. Seasonal sea urchin dishes and an omakase selection give regular diners scope to explore ingredients beyond the standard menu. Sake, wine, Champagne and cocktails support both a complete dinner and the restaurant's seasonal Spritz and Sushi experience.
