The Cross is a six floor dining and nightlife venue at 2 to 4 Wharfdale Road in King’s Cross. Created by the founder of the original Cross nightclub, it combines nostalgic details with a modern restaurant, cocktail bars, lounges, a basement club and a roof terrace. Dining is available on Friday and Saturday evenings, while the building also hosts private events throughout the week.
Food is designed to be enjoyed with friends, moving from simple snacks into Mediterranean inspired grazing plates. Smoked nuts, Sicilian olives and artisan bread provide an easy beginning. Salads combine ingredients such as apple, fennel, avocado, grains, beetroot and pomegranate, giving the menu fresh and colourful choices beside the richer cooked dishes.
Seafood has a strong presence through crispy squid with harissa mayonnaise, scallop crudo with seasonal citrus, cod with beurre blanc and giant king prawns with fregola. Lamb cutlets, glazed pork, beef carpaccio and sliced beef fillet add substantial meat options. Roast cauliflower and other vegetable plates ensure that a shared order can cover a broad range of tastes.
Desserts, cocktails and wine complete the transition from dinner into the later evening. Seasonal fruit desserts, ice cream and sorbet offer a concise finish, while the bars serve creative mixed drinks alongside carefully selected bottles. Guests can then move through the lounges, roof terrace and club, giving The Cross an experience that extends well beyond a conventional restaurant meal.
