The Greedy Sheep Menu

The Greedy Sheep is a fully halal Northern Chinese restaurant on Little Newport Street, at the edge of Chinatown and close to Leicester Square. The casual dining room specialises in the food of Xi’an and Lanzhou, bringing noodle making traditions associated with Hui Muslim communities to the centre of London.

Noodles are pulled fresh by hand for each bowl, giving them the springy texture that defines the regional style. They arrive in rich lamb or beef broth, with tender braised meat, herbs and chilli oil, while wide noodles can be served without broth for a more intensely seasoned meal.

Rou jia mo fills crisp freshly baked flatbread with slow braised lamb or beef, cumin and aromatic spices. Wok dishes such as cumin lamb, Sichuan beef, kung pao chicken and mapo tofu add further heat and depth, supported by steamed rice and fried rice choices.

Dumplings, wontons, steamed buns, prawns and seasoned vegetables make it easy to assemble a meal for sharing. Chinese tea, juice and soft drinks accompany the food, and the entire menu can also be ordered for collection or delivery when a quick Chinatown meal is more convenient.
