Funky Cellar is an independent wine bar, kitchen and delicatessen at 10A Lamb Street in Spitalfields. Set along the edge of Old Spitalfields Market, the venue combines a cosy dining room, market terrace and downstairs wine cellar with a bottle shop and cheese counter. Warm colours, vintage furniture and a strong interest in music give the space a playful character for lunch, dinner or a relaxed drink.
French cheese and charcuterie are central to the experience, offered individually or arranged as boards with jam, crackers, pickles and sourdough. Olives, saucisson and oysters provide simple opening bites, while smoked trout with wakame, prawns in garlic butter and anchovies with shallots add seafood to a shared order. Seasonal vegetables may appear as burnt leeks with ricotta or roasted carrots with whipped cheese and dukkah.
Larger dishes retain the informal wine bar approach. Guests can choose a croque monsieur, chorizo and goat cheese toast or roast beef with tonnato sauce, capers and radish. Baked Camembert, artisan raclette and Savoyarde fondue turn melted cheese into a meal for sharing, while French onion soup and garlic butter snails bring further bistro traditions to the table.
Canelé provides a compact Bordeaux inspired dessert after the savoury plates. Natural and low intervention wines are selected from France and farther afield, spanning sparkling, white, orange, rosé and red styles, with cocktails, beer and alcohol free choices alongside them. Tastings, private events and the take home shop extend Funky Cellar beyond an ordinary bar while keeping cheese and wine at the heart of every visit.
