Lita is a Mediterranean restaurant at 7–9 Paddington Street in Marylebone, open since spring 2024. Its name is drawn from the Spanish word abuelita, reflecting a sense of generosity and familiarity within an otherwise carefully composed dining room.
Open fire cooking guides much of the menu, adding smoke, char and direct heat to seasonal meat, fish and vegetables. The kitchen takes inspiration from across the Mediterranean rather than limiting itself to a single national tradition.
Sharing plates allow a table to move naturally from snacks and vegetable dishes to larger centrepieces. An open layout and chef’s counter keep the work of the kitchen visible, giving the technically assured cooking an immediate and convivial quality.
The wine list focuses on considered, often family run producers and is designed to match the evolving food. Lita’s Michelin star recognises the precision behind the experience, while its warm service and neighbourhood setting prevent the meal from feeling overly formal.
