Rita's Soho is an independent restaurant at 49 Lexington Street, founded in 2012 and led by chef owner Gabriel Pryce with beverage director Missy Flynn. The compact room and small walled garden give its modern American cooking an intimate neighbourhood setting.
Menus change with the seasons and combine American references with British and European produce. Recent dishes have moved from grilled shrimp with guajillo chilli and roast pumpkin to barbecued fish, grilled steak, pork chops and vegetable based mains.
The kitchen works with meat and fish raised or caught sustainably and fresh produce from organic farms around London and markets in Europe. Vegetables, sharp dressings, smoke and spice keep the cooking lively, while sides and snacks encourage a table to share.
Wine comes from producers working organically as a minimum, often with biodynamic or low intervention methods, and cocktails carry the same playful confidence as the food. Rita’s suits a considered lunch, an unhurried dinner or a compact group meal on a set menu.
