Koya City is a Japanese udon restaurant at 10–12 Bloomberg Arcade in the City of London. Opened as the second Koya restaurant, it brings an intimate noodle bar atmosphere to the Square Mile, with counter seating, an open kitchen and a terrace within the covered arcade.
Fresh udon noodles and dashi broth are prepared in house each day using Japanese technique and carefully sourced ingredients. Diners can choose hot noodles in hot broth, cold noodles with hot broth, chilled bowls or a separate dipping sauce, creating noticeably different textures and ways to appreciate the same bouncy noodles.
Toppings range from braised beef and pork to tempura prawns, smoked mackerel, sweet tofu and seasonal mushrooms. Rice bowls offer another route through the menu, while vegetable kakiage, Japanese curry, miso sesame sauce and organic tofu provide substantial choices for vegetarian and vegan guests.
Koya City also serves izakaya style plates designed for sharing with sake or draught beer. Chicken karaage, braised pork belly, grilled tofu, pickles and seasonal salads give the table plenty to explore before the noodles, while the concise desserts and drinks selection complete a relaxed lunch or evening meal.
