Trivet is a two Michelin star restaurant at 36 Snowsfields in Bermondsey, created by chef Jonny Lake and master sommelier Isa Bal. The pair built the restaurant around the idea that food and drink should be considered together from the beginning. Its warm dining room and open kitchen give precise, ambitious cooking an inviting and unstuffy setting.
The kitchen takes inspiration from culinary history, extensive travel and the international diversity of London. Rather than following one national tradition, dishes draw connections between ingredients and techniques from different cultures. Top quality seasonal produce remains central, allowing the team to create combinations that feel original while retaining clarity and balance.
Guests can choose from the main à la carte offering, while a dedicated lunch menu provides another way to experience the restaurant. Snacks such as house sourdough, gnocco fritto and carefully sourced salumi introduce the kitchen’s attention to detail before the larger courses. Desserts receive the same considered treatment and often explore the origins and evolution of familiar ingredients.
Wine is an equal part of Trivet’s identity. Isa Bal’s list travels through the history of wine, bringing established regions together with bottles from places that played an early role in wine culture. A separate wine bar, terrace and private dining room extend the experience beyond the main restaurant, creating space for anything from a glass and a snack to a complete celebratory meal.
