Orrery is an elegant fine dining restaurant above the shops of Marylebone High Street, offering a composed escape from the busy streets below. Sir Terence Conran opened the restaurant in 1997 and named it after the intricate clockwork models that show the movement of the solar system. That idea of precision continues to shape the experience, from the calm proportions of the dining room to the measured pacing of service. The restaurant has entered a new era under chef Pierre Minotti while preserving the refined character that has made it a longstanding Marylebone destination.

Pierre Minotti’s cooking is grounded in classical French gastronomy and the principles of Auguste Escoffier, then expressed through a clear contemporary style. His experience in demanding French kitchens informs a focus on structure, consistency and technical control. At Orrery, those foundations meet the British seasons, allowing the menu to evolve around seafood, meat, vegetables and dairy chosen at their best. Dishes aim for balance and restraint, using sauces, precise preparation and thoughtful presentation to reveal the character of each ingredient rather than disguise it.

Close relationships with farmers, fishermen and specialist makers support the kitchen’s approach. British produce is joined by selected French ingredients, including carefully sourced cheese, so that tradition and local seasonality can work together. Guests can explore the cooking through tasting or individual courses, with the restaurant team guiding the rhythm of the meal. Wine is treated as an integral part of the experience, and the sommelier can connect classic regions or less familiar bottles with the changing flavours of the menu.

Orrery’s roof terrace offers a contrasting setting for cocktails, small plates and open air dining during suitable weather. Inside, the light filled restaurant and attentive service create an atmosphere suited to celebrations, business meals and leisurely lunches. Regent’s Park, Baker Street and Bond Street stations are all within walking distance, while the surrounding village offers independent shops and cultural attractions. Orrery combines French culinary heritage, seasonal British sourcing and polished hospitality in a restaurant that continues to evolve without losing its original attention to detail.

Address: 55 Marylebone High Street, Marylebone, London W1U 5RB, United Kingdom
