The Gallery is the gastro brasserie within sketch, the dining and arts destination at 9 Conduit Street in Mayfair. It is one of several distinct rooms in the building, alongside the Lecture Room and Library, the Glade, the Parlour and the East Bar. The Gallery has its own reservation programme for afternoon tea and dinner, giving it a clear identity within the wider sketch experience.
Afternoon tea combines a traditional British structure with the detail of French patisserie. Smoked salmon, éclairs and Battenberg cake remain central elements, while seasonal fruits alter the pastry selection through the year. French marshmallows, Opera cake and a broad choice of teas, including rich Oolong varieties, add further contrast between delicate sweets, savoury bites and carefully brewed drinks.
In the evening, The Gallery operates as a full brasserie restaurant with separate dinner, set and dessert selections. The format supports a relaxed meal as well as a longer celebratory dinner, with cocktails and wines available across the venue. Service continues late into the evening, while the room’s theatrical presentation connects food and hospitality with the artistic character found throughout sketch.
Contemporary art is integral to the dining room and changes as new commissions are introduced. Jonathan Baldock’s current installation, The Gathering, brings together wall based masks from his Maske series, sculptural works from the Flowers series and woven Cocoons suspended beneath the central dome. This evolving programme allows The Gallery to function as both a restaurant and a living exhibition space.
