The Delaunay is an all day European cafe and restaurant at the corner of Aldwych and Drury Lane. Opened in 2011 as a sister restaurant to The Wolseley, it draws inspiration from the grand cafes of Vienna, Paris and central Europe.
Breakfast begins with choices such as Birchermüesli, eggs and freshly baked viennoiserie. Lunch and dinner continue with European classics including schnitzel, sausages and tartes flambées, giving the menu a clear connection to Austrian, German and French cafe cooking.
Afternoon tea is served every day with finger sandwiches, Viennese pastries, cakes, tea and coffee. A separate early evening offering suits guests visiting the surrounding West End theatres, while later weekday service accommodates meals after performances.
The adjacent Delaunay Counter provides a more informal setting for coffee, pastries and lighter food. Reservations and walk in tables are available in the main restaurant, while a flexible private dining room can be divided for smaller groups or combined for up to twenty four guests.
