1947 London is a modern Indian restaurant near Oxford Circus in the heart of the West End. Its concept draws on recipes shaped by the movement of people and cultures around the partition of India, presenting those traditions within an elegant contemporary dining room.

Executive chef Krishnapal Negi brings experience from India and leading London kitchens to a menu influenced by dishes he knew while growing up in the Himalayas. Seasonal cooking moves across regional curries from Kerala, kebabs from northern India and food prepared over charcoal or in the tandoor.

Small plates and sharing bowls lead into biryanis, rice, Indian breads and house made desserts. Signature butter chicken, slow cooked black lentils, paneer, lamb curry and grilled meat or seafood allow guests to combine familiar favourites with less common regional flavours.

Lunch includes vegetarian, meat and seafood tiffin choices, while set menus support celebrations and group dining. Wine, Champagne, cocktails and alcohol free creations are selected to complement the spices, giving the restaurant a complete experience from a daytime meal to a special evening.
