The Barrowboy & Banker occupies a grand former bank building on Borough High Street beside London Bridge and close to Borough Market. High ceilings, marble columns, ornate plasterwork and a sweeping gallery preserve the scale and character of the premises while creating a lively modern pub.
Handcrafted pies are a speciality, with fillings and pastry prepared as part of a seasonal British menu. Burgers, chef’s specials, fish, meat and plant based dishes provide plenty of alternatives, covering both quick lunches and more substantial evening meals.
Food is served throughout the week, beginning with breakfast and brunch before moving into the main menu. Sunday roasts are another important tradition, bringing roast meats and accompaniments to tables of families, friends and visitors exploring London Bridge.
Fresh cask ale and changing craft beer are joined by wine, gin, spirits, soft drinks and coffee. Live sport, Saturday music and several function spaces allow the pub to host business meetings, weddings, birthdays and other gatherings as well as everyday drinks at the bar.
