TAQ is a Mexican restaurant at 141–145 Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill. The site was known for many years as Taqueria and was relaunched under its shorter current name, continuing a local story that began when the original restaurant opened on Westbourne Grove in 2005.
Tacos remain central to the menu, with corn tortillas carrying fillings such as beef, chicken, fish, pork carnitas and mushrooms. Fresh garnishes, carefully matched salsas and contrasting textures allow each filling to retain its own character while still delivering the brightness and warmth associated with Mexican street food.
Tostadas, quesadillas and smaller plates make it easy to build a meal for the table. Guacamole with totopos, crisp shrimp tacos, chorizo croquetas, grilled corn, refried beans and seasonal salads bring together creamy, crisp, smoky and spicy elements before or alongside the tacos.
Churros with cajeta offer a sweet conclusion, while aguas frescas and soft drinks provide refreshing alcohol free choices. Margaritas, beer, wine, tequila and mezcal complete the drinks selection and reinforce TAQ as both a neighbourhood restaurant and a lively place for an evening meal in Notting Hill.
