The Hound Chiswick is a modern coaching inn at 210 Chiswick High Road, occupying a restored former Victorian police station. Its wood panelled bar, conservatory and other dining spaces bring together the atmosphere of a neighbourhood pub with a substantial all day food offering.
The menu is led by modern British fare and pub classics. Irish soda bread with Guinness butter, black pudding Scotch egg and buttermilk fried chicken work as snacks, while steak tartare, cured salmon and crab on toast make more substantial starters.
Slow roast chicken pie, beer battered fish and chips, cheeseburgers and a richly topped Hound dog cover familiar comfort food. The grill adds steaks, pork chops and whole sea bass, and traditional Sunday roasts give the week a distinctly pub focused finish.
Vegetable dishes, a vegan burger option and a children’s menu make the restaurant workable for varied groups, while the bar supplies beer, wine and cocktails. Menus change with the season, so guests with allergies should discuss the current dishes and kitchen procedures with their server.
