Khushi Monty’s Nepalese Restaurant is a longstanding Nepalese and Indian dining room at 692 Fulham Road. Formerly known simply as Monty’s, it has served the area for around 25 years and adopted the Khushi name after a licensing change. The kitchen combines Himalayan dishes with Indian curries and traditional charcoal tandoor cooking in a welcoming neighbourhood setting.
Momo are an essential introduction to the Nepalese side of the menu. These dumplings enclose seasoned chicken, lamb or vegetables and are served with a lively dipping sauce. Lamb sekuwa brings marinated meat from the grill, while other starters use paneer, chicken, seafood and vegetables with herbs and spices that reflect Nepal’s position between India and China.
The charcoal tandoor prepares chicken, lamb chops, seekh kebab, shashlik and king prawns over direct heat. A mixed grill combines several meats and seafood on one sizzling platter, while biryani brings rice, spice and a choice of filling together with cooling raita. House specialities such as the Khushi curry sit beside familiar korma, madras and other sauces that can be adjusted for heat.
Vegetable dishes include yellow lentils, chickpeas, okra, aubergine, spinach with potato and paneer with peas. Naan, chapati, tandoori roti and rice are prepared to accompany both Nepalese and Indian recipes. Mango lassi, wine and beer complete the meal, while dine in, takeaway and delivery service keep the restaurant accessible to Fulham throughout the week.
