Dishoom Covent Garden is the original branch of the restaurant group, bringing the character of Bombay’s old Irani cafés to Upper St Martin’s Lane. Its richly detailed interiors draw on the glamour and excitement of Indian cinema during the Talkies era, creating a setting filled with imagined stories, vintage references and warm light. The result feels theatrical enough for the West End while preserving the easy hospitality of a café intended to welcome everyone throughout the day.

Breakfast introduces signatures such as bacon naan rolls, akuri and the generous Big Bombay, accompanied by house chai, coffee and fresh juices. From midday, the menu moves through small plates, street food inspired snacks, grills, curries, biryanis, vegetables and breads baked to order. Dishes are designed to work individually or as part of a shared feast, allowing the table to combine smoky, fresh, rich and fragrant flavours at its own pace.

House black daal, colourful chaat and aromatic rice dishes sit alongside branch specials that give Covent Garden its own culinary personality. Vegetarian and vegan choices are woven through the selection, making it straightforward for mixed groups to build a balanced meal. Creative cocktails continue the cinema theme, while bottomless cups of warming chai remain an equally characteristic choice for a quieter afternoon visit.

The café is open from morning until late, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening drinks near the theatres, shops and public spaces of Covent Garden. Most tables are kept for spontaneous visitors, with reservations also available according to the time and size of the group. Friendly service, expressive interiors and an all day menu make Dishoom Covent Garden equally suitable for a quick breakfast, a leisurely feast or a drink before a West End performance.
