Cabotte Restaurant is a French restaurant and wine bar at 48 Gresham Street near Bank. Founded by two Master Sommeliers, it takes its name from the small stone huts found in Burgundy’s vineyards. The room evokes a country bistro while the kitchen applies precise modern cooking to seasonal ingredients, creating a City restaurant equally suited to lunch, dinner or an extended wine led meal.
Snacks and starters show the detail of the kitchen through beef tartare tartlets, ham and Manchego croquettes, Maldon oysters and artisanal charcuterie with pâté. Seasonal plates may combine burrata with cured ham and fruit, tuna with avocado and watermelon, or pork belly with apple and celeriac. The menu changes regularly, allowing the produce to guide each combination.
Main courses move across steak, fish, poultry and handmade pasta. Rump steak arrives with rosemary fries and béarnaise, while Cornish cod is paired with brown shrimp, samphire and Champagne velouté. Spinach and ricotta tortellini highlights summer vegetables and mushrooms, and dishes using chicken, gurnard, crab or shellfish build richer sauces without losing clarity.
Desserts continue the seasonal approach through chocolate with cherries, ginger cake with summer berries, banoffee tart or apple tarte tatin for two. French cheese offers a savoury finish. The cellar contains more than one thousand wines, including around 650 from Burgundy, with the sommelier team available to match familiar appellations or rare bottles to every stage of the meal.
