Masala Zone Soho is an Indian restaurant at 9 Marshall Street that has introduced diners to regional Indian food for around twenty five years. Colourful artwork and decoration create a vivid setting for food inspired by home kitchens and street stalls across North India, Bombay, Bengal, Goa, Hyderabad, Kerala and beyond.
Street food starters include chaat, samosas, crisp prawns and dishes such as pao bhaji, bringing together spice, chutney, herbs and contrasting textures. These smaller plates give a table an accessible introduction to several regional traditions before the curries and larger dishes arrive.
Curries range from butter chicken and lamb roghan josh to coconut enriched seafood and paneer preparations. Dum cooked biryanis, grills and balanced thalis add further choice, with each thali combining a selected curry with vegetables, dal, basmati rice or chapattis, papad and chutney.
Vegetarian dishes are an important part of the menu and all food served by Masala Zone is halal. Lassi, wine, beer and soft drinks accompany the meal, while lunch offers, a children’s menu and a curtained party area allow the Soho restaurant to serve many different kinds of gathering.
