Shezan Knightsbridge is an Indian and Pakistani restaurant at 16-22 Cheval Place, a quiet street close to Harrods. Its ornate dining room uses carved arches, Mughal artwork, antiques and warm candlelight to create a palatial atmosphere that reflects more than four decades of serving regional food in central London.
Appetisers range from mulligatawny soup, vegetable samosas and chicken pakora to shammi kebab, butterfly king prawns and lobster cooked in the tandoor. Papadoms with mint yoghurt, mango chutney and achar provide a simple beginning, while seafood and meat choices introduce the kitchen’s careful spice blends.
The charcoal tandoor produces Lahori chicken, seekh kebab, chicken shish, paneer tikka and king prawns. Kabuli lamb chops are marinated with a distinctive combination of nine herbs and spices, and the mixed grill brings several skewers together for sharing with grilled vegetables and fresh accompaniments.
Main courses include slow cooked lamb nihari, chicken makhani, Khyber style karahi, saag gosht, haleem and chicken cooked with ginger or spinach. Whole grilled sea bass, lentils, chickpeas, okra and vegetable dishes add further variety, while saffron biryani, pulao and freshly baked naan complete a generous meal.
